Free Play Boarding At Chasin’ Tails
Freedom of choice is the underlying philosophy at Chasin’ Tails, including in our dog boarding department. During their stay with us here in Calgary, your dog will get to have as much appropriate play as he or she wants with other dogs. Dogs needing additional rest breaks or having trouble relaxing in the group will be given calm timeouts and rest periods. Dogs who do not do well in Free Play settings are welcome to stay in our private kennels.
We Board Dogs, But Our Dogs are Never Bored!
Nonstop fun: No Boring routine here! We have plenty of dogs that come for a day of daycare to play and interact with the boarding dogs. During a day of play, dogs receive 3 romp/potty breaks in our 6000 sq. ft outdoor area. While beds are available all day for rest when needed, dogs are separated into different size-appropriate areas to sleep at night. This is a great time for family dogs who may have enjoyed different play groups during the day to come together again.
Comfy beds: Our Kuranda orthopedic dog beds are a great option for your dogs. These durable, easy to sanitize beds offer firm, even support unmatched by any other brand.
Caring Staff 24 Hours a Day: Our caregivers are dedicated, educated, and experienced in the diverse field of canine care. Each day starts off with a pee break outside and breakfast for those who need it. During the day of play, dogs are individually checked over from head to toe to ensure they are staying healthy during their visit. They get to have another midday visit outside with their daycare friends. Afternoon brings dinner and another visit outside before bed. As a result, all the guests at Chasin’ Tails can enjoy a stimulating and safe environment with friendly fellow dogs right here in Calgary.
Feeding: House blend (poultry and grain free) dog food can be provided for your dog, or we can feed a meal you bring from home at no additional cost. Please bag your dog’s food for each meal packaged individually in disposable packaging with your dogs first and last name written on the bag. We do not currently accept containers.
Medication: Our trained staff can administer medication at no charge. This excludes any type of injection. Each medication must separate from food with administration information provided at drop off.
Turn Down Service: For a special added touch, choose from our large selection of individual treats for a special after dinner moment before bed. This includes Frozen Goat yogurt in 3 varieties, Plaque Buster dental chew, a Plato On the Go energy bar in 3 varieties, or a sprinkle of Plato Baltic sprat. These yummy treats are available for a small additional cost. Choose any frequency from every night to every other night, etc.
Vaccinations: Dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations for Rabies and DHLPP (also known as D4 or DA2P). Puppies must have completed 3 sets of vaccinations (“puppy shots”). The Bordetella vaccine, in addition to lice/mite prevention, is highly recommended for all dogs who come into contact with other dogs. Titres are accepted.
Spaying/Neutering Required: All dogs who regularly partake in our Free Play programme will be continually evaluated up to and after 6 months for eligibility in Open Care. Any new dogs joining our Free Play programme after 6 months of age are required to be fixed. (Please call for clarification if you are unsure or have concerns.)
Medical Restrictions: Our goal is always the comfort and wellness of every doggy in our care. Our staff are all Pet First Aid certified and are trained in several common medical conditions to provide the best care. Not all medical conditions are able to be accommodated. If you have any questions, please reach out to one of our helpful Canine experts.
