At Chasin' Tails, we coined the phrase "Open Care Concept" to mean that your dog is never kenneled during their stay at our boarding facility. By eliminating kennels, we have eliminated the stress and loneliness that goes along with being caged. Freedom of choice is the underlying philosophy at Chasin' Tails. Your dog will get to play as much as he or she wants with other dogs. Dogs rest and relax whenever they want.
Don't be fooled by other dog boarding kennels in Calgary that call their cages "bedrooms" or "suites" — ultimately, their board dogs are left alone in a single kennel in a block of other cubicles.
Some dog boarders aren't staffed at night to provide for the canines' safety, security, and comfort, or even to keep them company. In the event of an emergency, you'll have peace of mind knowing that our caregivers are watching over your dog 24 hours a day while he or she is staying with us.
Canine clients at Chasin' Tails are placed in customized play areas in our completely indoor playground with fellow dogs of a similar size or activity level.
Nonstop fun — We have a super-large, park-like play area for active dogs to burn off their energy which also shows Disney movies on a huge movie screen. Of course our active-dog area has a kiddie pool and jungle gym equipment for the dogs to enjoy. After a full day of play and petting, your dog gets to select the bed of his/her choice and settle down to rest. Then it's off to doggy dreamland.
Comfy beds — Our state-of-the art boarding facility features separate areas for small-breed dogs. Older or less active dogs can chill out in our exclusive "Plasma Lounge" with plasma fireplaces and lava lamps to mellow their moods while lounging on our high quality, orthopedic Kuranda beds.
Caring Staff 24 Hours a Day — Our caregivers are dedicated, educated, and experienced in the diverse field of canine care. As a result, all the guests at Chasin' Tails are able to enjoy a stimulating and safe environment with friendly fellow dogs without physical barriers.
OVERNIGHT: $36 = One day + one night; checkout time is noon. If not picked up by noon, an additional fee of $23.50 applies.
LONG-TERM DISCOUNTS: Lower boarding rates are available for stays of 10 nights or more (10%) and for 30 nights or more (30%).
MULTI-DOG DISCOUNT: Get a 30% discount when you bring an additional dog from the same household.
FOOD INCLUDED! We provide a premium veterinary diet intended to prevent any gastrointestinal issues. (Note: Clients who bring their own food will be charged $3.00/feeding, unless there is a specific medical reason or an allergy, subject to the discretion of Chasin' Tails. Please be advised that due to the pervasive nature of certain pathogens, we cannot accommodate raw food diets.)
MEDICATION: Our trained staff can administer medication for a $2.00 fee.
GO HOME CLEAN! We'll give your dog a bath before he or she is picked up. Includes a nail trim, ear cleaning, bath, brush-out, and a spritz of clean scent. Prices start at $24.50 for the tiniest dog and go to $49.00 for 110+lbs. (Extra-long-hair surplus fee and tax not incl.) No charge for the cute bandana!
Vaccinations: Dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations for Rabies and DHLPP (also known as D4 or DA2P). Puppies must have completed 3 sets of vaccinations ("puppy shots"). The Bordatella vaccine, in addition to lice/mite prevention, is highly recommended for any and all dogs who come into contact with other dogs.
Spaying/Neutering Requirement: Mid-size to larger breeds, if over 6 months old. Small breeds, if over 7 months of age. (Please call for clarification if unsure.) Breed Restrictions: Due to restrictions from property management, currently we cannot accept the following breeds: "Pit Bulls" (American Pit Bull Terriers), “Staffies” (American Staffordshire Bull Terriers), Bull Terriers, Cane Corsos, Presa Canarios, Dogo Argentinos. Making plans for the next winter holiday season?
From mid-December to the first week of January, RATES AND POLICIES FOR DOG BOARDING DO CHANGE. Plus, we require a non-refundable deposit (which does go towards your final balance owing) and your signature to acknowledge our different holiday policies/rates. Discounts do not apply during our busy holiday period, except for the multi-dog discount.
Tours are always welcome — no appointment necessary! Visit us from Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 3 pm (excluding long weekends, holidays and the winter holiday season).
